To add scheduling instructions:

Colors

Where your colors display on your scheduler, and which colors you can customize, depends on which scheduler template you’re using. To make changes:

  1. Open the Customize appearance panel: I log in with an Acuity account | I log in with a Squarespace account.
  2. Scroll down to the color drop-down menu or menus, select your new colors, and click Save changes.

Appointment type category

Appointment type categories are groupings of appointment types. They’ll appear together on your scheduler. You can also embed a scheduler that shows just one appointment category, or send clients links that take them directly to scheduling pages for specific categories.

Calendar pooling

If you have more than one calendar, use calendar pooling to decide if clients can choose a specific calendar to book with. If they can, you can also enable them to access any available appointment times. Visit Pooling calendar availability in Acuity to learn more.

Calendar location

You can set a location for each calendar you create. This becomes the location for all appointments on the calendar, unless you enable an overriding setting. If you have more than one calendar, Acuity groups them by address on the scheduler.

To set a calendar location:

  1. Open the Availability panel: I log in with an Acuity account | I log in with a Squarespace account
  2. Above the calendar, click Calendar settings.
  3. Enter the location in the Location field, then click Save.
Note: The location doesn't have to be a full address.

Calendar name

To rename your calendars:

  1. Open the Availability panel: I log in with an Acuity account | I log in with a Squarespace account
  2. Above the calendar, click Calendar settings.
  3. Enter a new name in the Calendar name field, then click Save.

Calendar description (optional)

To add a calendar description:

  1. Open the Availability panel: I log in with an Acuity account | I log in with a Squarespace account
  2. Above the calendar, click Calendar settings.
  3. Add a description in the Description field, then click Save.

Calendar image (optional)

You can add a calendar image that displays next to the calendar description. To add an image:

  1. Open the Availability panel: I log in with an Acuity account | I log in with a Squarespace account
  2. Above the calendar, click Calendar settings.
  3. Click Add image.
  4. Follow the prompts to upload an image, then click Save.

When uploading images, you can use the same image file types used in the rest of your site. Keep the following in mind when formatting your calendar image:

  • The file size limit is 1.5 MB.
  • Acuity automatically resizes images larger than 600px x 600px when they're uploaded as the image for a calendar.
  • For the best visual results, we recommend using images with a square shape or 1:1 aspect ratio.

Calendar order

If you have more than one calendar, Acuity will list them in alphabetical order. However, if each calendar has a different location, Acuity will group them by address, then list the calendars at each address in alphabetical order.

To learn more, visit Rearranging lists in Acuity.

Appointment time selection

When clients select a date and time, they can also choose to add more appointment times, or make the appointment recurring.

The options to add a time or book a recurring appointment appear differently depending on which scheduler template you’re using.

Daily template:

Monthly template:

Start times

Manage the amount of time between appointment start times with your start time interval scheduling limit, or set your availability to only offer specific start times. Acuity will show all available times for each day, unless you’ve enabled the look busy or minimize gaps settings to hide some times from clients.

Recurring appointments

Recurring appointments are enabled by default. Clients can schedule more than one appointment of the same type at a time, or schedule several repeating appointments.

To disable this feature:

  1. Open the Customize appearance panel: I log in with an Acuity account | I log in with a Squarespace account
  2. Click Scheduling page options.
  3. Uncheck Hide add another time, then click Save changes.

Other options

Time and day details

Open the Customize appearance panel: I log in with an Acuity account | I log in with a Squarespace account

From this panel, you can choose:

  • If your week starts on Sunday or Monday
  • If your times are listed in a 24-hour format or as AM and PM
  • If your scheduler uses the daily or monthly template.

To set your time zone, navigate to the Global scheduling limits panel: I log in with an Acuity account | I log in with a Squarespace account.

Logo and business name

It's not possible to add a business logo if you're using the Acuity Scheduling legacy free plan.

If you add a logo and business name, they'll display when clients visit your scheduler on its standalone, automatically-generated scheduling page. The business logo can be in .jpeg, .gif or .png format. The maximum image is 600px x 120px. If you upload a larger logo, it will be resized to fit.

These elements won't display when clients use your scheduler embedded in a website.

  1. Open the Customize appearance panel: I log in with an Acuity account | I log in with a Squarespace account
  2. Enter your business’s name in the Business name field.
  3. Click Change logo, then click Choose file
  4. Follow the prompts to upload a logo image, then click Save changes
