Send automated emails and text messages to your staff and clients.
Keep yourself, your staff, and your clients up to date through Acuity’s automated notifications. The notifications are based on templates, and appointment-specific information (such as appointment type, appointment time, or client name) is filled in automatically.
You can customize most notifications to suit your business needs, or use a default template to start sending them without any extra setup.
Notification methods
Notifications are sent via email and, for certain plan levels and notification types, text message.
Available notifications
Clients can receive:
- A wide variety of automated email confirmations, reminders, receipts, and follow-ups. Review available client email notifications, or review the normal flow of notifications for a client who books an appointment.
- A single text message reminder per appointment, if you’re on the Growing or Powerhouse plan.
Staff can receive:
- Email notifications and reminders about booking activity on specific calendars.
- Text notifications and reminders about appointments on specific calendars, if you’re on the Growing or Powerhouse plans.
- Summary emails about appointments in the day or week ahead.
Acuity subscription owners can receive:
- Email notifications whenever someone schedules, reschedules, or cancels an appointment, and whenever someone buys a booking code, across all calendars.
Notification templates
Most client-facing Acuity notifications use templates. You can customize templates to make your automated notifications to clients match your brand and tone. You can also create multiple templates for a specific notification to send different messages for different appointment types.
Both email notifications and text message reminders use the template system.
Some strictly transactional notifications, such as email receipts for client subscription payments, have a fixed format.
Tracking notification activity
You can track all the notifications sent to clients for a specific appointment by viewing the changelog. We also have troubleshooting steps for email notifications.
