Clients can add gratuity when booking an appointment or after paying in full.
Accepting tips is a great way to maximize your revenue and prompt clients to reflect on the excellent service you provide.
You can enable client tipping if you do all of the following:
- Give clients the option to pay in full at booking.
- Don’t use pay-what-you-want pricing.
- Use Stripe or Square as a payment processor. It’s not possible to tip through PayPal.
Before you begin
Your tipping setting applies to all appointment types.
It’s not possible for clients to:
- Tip when they purchase packages, gift certificates, or subscriptions. Instead, they can tip when they redeem their package, gift certificate, or subscription for appointments.
- Tip when they pay less than the full cost of the appointment, such as when they pay an initial deposit or save a card to be charged later. Instead, they can tip when they finish paying the full cost.
- Use package, gift certificate, or subscription balances for tips. Instead, they can use their code for the appointment, then tip with a card.
- Tip when paying an invoice.
Turn tipping on
To turn tipping on:
- In the Payment Settings panel, switch the Clients can tip when they pay in full toggle On.
- Click Save.
Tip: You can also access this setting from the Acuity Scheduling Admin mobile app.
