Turn on tipping, send invoices, request payment, or review an appointment's payment status.
From the Acuity Scheduling Admin mobile app, you can manage settings for your connected payment processor, send invoices, send payment links, or view an appointment's payment status.

Enable tipping
If you have Administrator access, you can enable tipping from your mobile device so your clients can tip after an appointment.
The tipping feature on mobile works separately from the tipping option that you can enable on the client scheduling page.
The default tip selection is 0%.
To enable tipping:
- Tap Menu, then tap Payments.
- Tap Turn on to turn tipping on.
Tips on partial payments
If you enable tipping on mobile, clients can leave a tip even when only a partial payment is made.
If clients are making a partial payment, such as paying the remainder due on an appointment with a deposit, the tip is calculated based on the entire cost of the appointment.
For example: The client booked a $100 appointment and paid a $20 deposit at booking. Now they're paying the $80 they still owe. If they choose a 20% tip, the tip will be 20% of the total $100 cost, or $20.
Create and send invoices
To create and send invoices from the mobile app:
- Tap Menu, then tap Invoices.
- To create a new invoice, tap Create Invoice.
- Use the search bar to find a specific invoice. You can also use the filters to narrow your results.
- To act on invoice, tap … next to the invoice, then choose one of the following actions:

Send payment links
If a client owes money for an appointment, you can send them a payment link by email or text message to request payment.
Payment settings
Payment links only work if your payment settings allow clients to pay. If you only allow deposits, payment links will only work for deposits and won't allow clients to pay the remainder.
Changing amount due at checkout
If you edit the amount due at checkout, it's not possible to send a payment link. Payment links only work for the same amount the client would pay if accessing the payment page through their confirmation email.
Send the link
If you book the appointment for the client using the mobile admin app, you can send the link from the appointment booking success message by clicking Collect Payment or Collect Deposit.
And you can send the link at any time by opening the appointment details.
To send an email payment link:
- Open the appointment details, then tap Start checkout. You may have to tap More options to reach the Start checkout option.
- Tap Send payment link, then tap Email.
- Optionally, edit the To and Email fields.
- Tap Send email.
To send a text payment link:
- Open the appointment details, then tap Start checkout. You may have to tap More options to reach the Start checkout option.
- Tap Send payment link, then tap Text. A new text message will open, with the link in the message field.
- Tap send in your text message app.
Note: You can turn off the booking success message by checking the box next to Do not show again. Keep in mind, there isn't a way to turn this back on. If you turn it off, you can open the appointment details to send a payment link.
Check appointment payment status
To check if a client has paid for an appointment:
- Tap Calendar, then tap the date of the appointment.
- Check the icon that appears in the top-right corner of the appointment. In the example below, the appointment has been paid for. Learn more about the other payment status symbols.
