Offer appointments for more than one client at a time.
Group classes will appear with the other active appointment types on your scheduler. You can also send clients a direct link to a list of all the classes you currently offer.
As your classes start to book up, learn how to add or remove attendees.
How classes appear in your Acuity calendar
Group classes appear on the calendar in the daily or weekly view. If you open the Acuity calendar in monthly view, there's a note on each day that has a group class. Selecting the day brings up the group class details.
Tip: If you sync to a third-party calendar, every person who signs up to attend a group class shows up in the third-party calendar as an individual appointment. The class won't appear on your third-party calendar until the first client signs up for the class.
How clients book a class
Clients select the class they want to book from your scheduling page or using a direct link that you sent them. If a client tries to book a class they’ve already signed up for, a warning appears, but they can still finish booking.
After booking the class and making a payment, if a payment is required, the client will be assigned a spot in the class.
Have clients book multiple spots in a class
If you want clients to bring their friends to your class, you can enable them to book more than one spot when signing up. When clients click the group class name, a Quantity field appears so they can book multiple spots. The number of available spots will appear on the scheduling page.
To enable this feature:
- Open the Customize appearance panel: I log in with an Acuity account | I log in with a Squarespace account.
- Click Scheduling Page Options.
- Check the box for Classes: Allow clients to book multiple spots, then click Save Changes.
Note: To book multiple spots in a class that's part of a series, clients need to book using a direct link to the class template.
Classes and video conferencing
If you're using a video conferencing integration, the integration will not create a link until at least one client has signed up for the class. All class attendees receive the same meeting link where they can join the class at the scheduled time.
If you're hosting the class, you can join the meeting using the link in the scheduling confirmation email.
Classes and calendar pooling
If you have multiple calendars and pooling availability is enabled, even if there are multiple spots open across calendars, clients will only see the most spots that are available together in one class session on a single calendar. The total number of available appointments across all calendars will not appear.
Classes and third-party calendars
If you sync with a third-party calendar, each class attendee appears on that calendar as an individual appointment. For example, a class with eight attendees will show in your third-party calendar as eight appointments.
