Checking appointment payment status

Last updated

You can check an appointment’s payment status at a glance, or open the appointment details for full information. This guide explains how to view payments in Acuity. You can also find payment information in your payment processor.

Note: Payments made through Acuity invoices don’t affect appointment payment status.

At a glance

  • When viewing appointments in the Calendar panel, the top-right corner shows its payment status.
The box representing an appointment is shown. A currency symbol in the top-right corner is highlighted.
  • When viewing a client’s entry in the client list, each appointment summary includes information about payment status.
An example appointment from client list entry is shown. The last line is green bubble that reads 'Paid'.

Here’s how each payment status displays:

Payment status Calendar panel symbol Client list status
Fully paid Image of a currency symbol in black text, in this case a dollar sign. Paid
Deposit paid Image of a currency symbol in light gray text, in this case a dollar sign. Deposit
Card details saved Image of a credit card. Verified
Certificate code used for full cost Image of a black starburst shape. Certificate
Certificate code used for part of cost Image of a gray starburst shape. Certificate
Unpaid or free Empty [No status listed]

Note: If you apply a package, gift certificate, or subscription code after an appointment is booked, the appointment payment status will update and display the Certificate symbol. This does not happen if you apply a coupon code after the appointment is booked.

Appointment details

When you click an appointment in the Calendar panel or the client list, you open the appointment details, which include cost and payment details.

The Payment section shows the total cost, any payments already made, and the amount still owed. If you've received a tip, the Payment section will also include a line for "Amount Extra", which is your tip.
