To accept payments in Acuity, connect to a payment processor. You can choose Stripe, Square, or PayPal.

What features do all processors support?

All payment processors support these standard booking features:

  • Pay on the scheduler - Clients can pay while booking online.
  • Deposits - Require a deposit upfront.
  • Pay after booking - Collect the remaining balance later.
  • Accept tips - Allow clients to add a gratuity during checkout.

Note: If you use PayPal, you may need to reconnect your PayPal account to use several of these features. Open the Payments panel, then disconnect and reconnect PayPal.

Use PayPal

PayPal also lets you accept payments using Venmo.

Restrictions to know before using PayPal

You can't use PayPal to:

  • Store client card details to charge later
  • Sell subscriptions
  • Collect payments in person

  • Venmo (for US-based businesses taking payments in USD)

Can I combine payment processors?

You can use two payment processors with Acuity if you pair PayPal with either Stripe or Square. It's not possible to connect Stripe and Square at the same time.

What to know before combining processors

When you combine payment processors, keep in mind:

  • You can't collect and save card details for later use.
  • You can't choose which processor a client uses.
  • You can't split a single payment between processors.
  • If you offer features PayPal doesn't support (such as subscriptions), clients using those options automatically pay with your other payment processor.

Which payment options aren't supported?

To collect payments through Acuity, you must use Stripe, Square, or PayPal.

It’s not possible to use Acuity with:

  • Buy Now, Pay Later services like Afterpay or Klarna.
  • Squarespace Payments or the Squarespace point of sale device.
