Use special links to prefill information for your clients

Use dynamic linking to send your clients links that handle part of the booking process automatically.

Direct links are simple dynamic links that you can copy directly from Acuity. Direct links do things like lead clients directly to a specific appointment type or calendar.

Dynamic links are more advanced. You can create links that add multiple pieces of information or prefill forms for your clients.

For example, a complex dynamic link might pre-choose an appointment type, date, and time, pre-fill the client’s first and last name, pre-fill an intake form question, and automatically apply a coupon.

How dynamic links work

Dynamic links work by adding extra information to the web address of your scheduler. When Acuity loads your scheduler, it applies this extra information, pre-loading choices or pre-filling forms.

You build these links yourself, so they can include multiple pieces of information if you want. Each piece of information is called a parameter. To learn more about building dynamic links, visit:

When to use dynamic links

Dynamic links are a powerful tool, so there are many right ways to use them:

Closing a big sale

If you’re trying to close a high-value sale, a dynamic link is a great way to minimize the steps your client has to take to book. Dynamic links change the booking experience from efficient self-service to a bespoke link that requires only one or two clicks. This smoother, shorter experience minimizes mid-booking drop-off and sends a message of personalized service.

Aligning with advertising

If you’re running an advertising campaign urging people to book a specific class or use a particular code for a discount, use dynamic links to automatically select the right class or apply the right coupon.

Leveraging data

You can use dynamic links creatively to automatically fill out internal form fields, allowing you to measure booking activity. For more details, visit Tracking appointment referral sources.
