Sell packages so you get paid up front for a set number of appointments.
Create packages so clients can prepay for a set number of appointments, often at a discount, like five appointments for the price of four. A package is a one-time purchase that gives clients a booking code to use when they book. To offer something that renews automatically, create a subscription instead.
Create a package
To create a new package:
- Open the Packages, Gift Certificates & Subscriptions panel.
- Click New Package.
- Add a Title, like “5-session massage package.”
- Set the package Access to Public, Private, or Unavailable.
- Public - Anyone can buy it. Control where it displays with your scheduler display settings.
- Private - Hidden from your scheduler. Clients can only buy it if you share the direct link with them.
- Unavailable - No one can buy it.
- Add a Price.
- Optional: Add a picture, description, or category.
- Leave the Gift Certificate? box unchecked. To sell a gift certificate instead, visit creating gift certificates.
- Enter a number of days in the Expires after field. Leave it blank if booking codes should never expire.
- Click the Redeemable for dropdown menu and choose how clients redeem booking codes.
- Set the value for your booking code. Check at least one appointment type. Without one, the package can't save and you'll get an error reading “Please fill in all the required fields.” Your choices in the Redeemable for field are:
- Total number of appointments - Enter a number for each appointment type. The number applies to each type on its own, so three types set to 5 give a client 15 appointments, not 5. Appointment types set to 0 aren’t included.
- Total number of minutes or Total dollar amount - Enter the total, then check the appointment types it can be used toward. Use one of these if you want a single total shared across appointment types.
- Unlimited appointments - Check the appointment types the booking code includes.
- Click Add Package.
Tip: You can also require clients to agree to your terms and conditions before placing an order.
How expiration dates work
Use the Expires after field to set how many days a booking code stays valid, counting from the purchase date.
Clients need to use the booking code before it expires, and the appointment itself can be later. For example, if a booking code expires in 30 days, a client can use it on day 29 to book an appointment two months out.
Choose how clients redeem booking codes
Choose the option that fits how you want to sell your package:
| Redeemable for | What the booking code includes |
| Total number of appointments | A set number of appointments for each appointment type you choose |
| Total number of minutes | A set amount of time, used toward the appointment types you choose |
| Total dollar amount | A set amount of money, used toward the appointment types you choose, and the only option clients can put toward an add-on. |
| Unlimited appointments | As many appointments as clients like, for the appointment types you choose |
Edit packages
Editing a package changes it for every client who’s bought it. To make changes that affect one client, edit the client’s booking code.
To edit a package:
- Open the Packages, Gift Certificates & Subscriptions panel.
- Click Edit for the package you want to change.
- Update any of the settings, then click Update Package.
Make a package unavailable
To stop selling a package without deleting it, edit the package and set Access to Unavailable. The package:
- Doesn’t appear to any clients.
- Shows a note on direct links that it’s no longer available.
- Still works for clients who have already bought it.
Delete packages
Deleting a package is permanent, and clients can’t use any booking codes they haven’t spent yet. If you only want to stop selling it, make it unavailable instead.
To delete a package:
- Open the Packages, Gift Certificates & Subscriptions panel.
- Click Edit for the package you want to delete.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Delete.
- Type Delete in the text field, then click Ok.
