Choose to either keep your current Acuity account or start a new one when moving to a 7.1 site.
If your Acuity Scheduling account is connected to a version 7.0 Squarespace website, it can't be moved to a version 7.1 site. When upgrading your site, you’ll need to decide how you want to continue using Acuity.
Option 1: Keep your current Acuity account
If your scheduler has a complex setup that would take time to recreate, you can cancel your version 7.0 site subscription and keep your existing Acuity subscription to use with your new 7.1 site.
Your Acuity account will remain active, but it won’t be directly connected to your new Squarespace site in your account dashboard. Instead, clients will book on your new site, but you'll manage the administrative side of your Acuity account from within the old website.
To add your current scheduling page to your new website:
- In your Acuity account, click Scheduling Page Link in the sidebar.
- Copy the link beneath General Scheduling Page to embed your scheduling page. Or use the Direct Links & Embedding section to find the direct link to a scheduler for a specific calendar, appointment type, category, or more.
- Go to your account dashboard, then open your new website.
- In the Pages panel, select a page or post, then click Edit.
- Click Add block, then select Scheduling. For help, visit Adding content with blocks.
- Open the block editor by clicking the pencil icon or Edit on the block.
- Click the dropdown menu and select Custom Link.
- Paste your URL in the Custom Scheduling Page Link field.
Option 2: Start a new Acuity account
If you have a basic scheduler setup that you can quickly recreate, or you need to use site-specific integrations like sending marketing emails to Acuity clients via Email Campaigns, you may prefer to create a new scheduler on your new site.
If you choose this option, your Acuity account will fully connect to your new Squarespace site. This means you can manage the administrative side of both in the same place on your account dashboard.
To cancel your current Acuity account and start a new one with your 7.1 website:
- Optional: Export clients and appointments from your old site.
- Optional: Import clients and appointments to your new site.
- Cancel your Acuity subscription on your old 7.0 site.
- Sign up for a new Acuity subscription on your new 7.1 site.
After your new site and new Acuity account are setup, add a Scheduling block to your website so clients can book directly on your new site.
