Set new prices for your appointments.

Over time, you may decide it's best for your business to change your appointment prices. You can edit the price immediately, or schedule it around a specific date.

Edit the appointment price

If your price change is effective immediately, you can edit the appointment type price so that all new appointments booked moving forward will reflect the new amount.

  1. In Acuity, click Appointment Types
  2. Click Edit next to the appointment you want to edit.
  3. In the Price field, enter a new price for the appointment.
  4. Click Update Appointment Type
Note: If an existing appointment type didn't have a price set, but you edit it to start charging for the appointment, clients who have already booked that appointment type won't be charged.

Schedule a price change

In some cases, you might want to tell clients about an upcoming price change. Schedule the price change around a specific date so your clients can prepare.

  1. In Acuity, click Appointment Types
  2. Next to the appointment type you want to change the price of, click Duplicate
  3. Enter the new price in the Price field, then click Create Appointment Type. You may also want to edit the name of the appointment type so you know which has ‌the new rate.

After you create the new appointment type at the new price point, use the availability by appointment type feature to separate your current appointment from the new appointment.

  1. In Acuity, click Availability
  2. For the calendar you want the appointments to appear on, click Set different hours for certain appointment types….
  3. Check the box next to the current appointment type offering, then click Save Appointment Types.
  4. Now you'll set your appointment type availability for specific days, ending the last day you want the original price for the appointment to be available.
    1. If you haven't already, uncheck This service group has regular hours, then click Save, switch to specific days
    2. Click a day on the calendar that appears below, then enter your hours for that day.
    3. Click Until end date… in top-right corner, then select the end date from the date picker.
    4. Click Set Hours. Clients can book the appointment at the original price until the last day you set.
  5. Next, repeat the steps above to set the availability for your newly-priced appointment type, making it available the first day you want to offer that appointment at the new price point.

When the new pricing date arrives, you can then revert to regular weekly availability for your new appointments if needed. You should also make the outdated appointment type private so clients can no longer book appointments at the old price.
