Public and private appointment types and classes

Decide if your appointments and classes are available to everyone or only to specific clients.

Appointment types and group classes can either be public or private:

• Public appointment types are listed on your scheduler, and clients can book them without any action from you.
• Private appointment types are hidden from your scheduler. You and your staff can book private appointment types on clients' behalf. Clients can book private appointment types if you send them a direct link.

To change an appointment type from public to private, or vice versa: 

1. In Acuity, click Appointment Types.
2. Click Edit for the appointment type you want to change.
3. Switch the Private appointment type toggle on or off.
4. Click Save.

Note: Clients can see private appointment types when they open a direct link to a private appointment type, a category of private appointment types, or a calendar that only offers private appointment types.
