Charge a card on file, send a payment link, or record a cash payment.
If a client owes money after booking an appointment, you can take their payment through Acuity or log a payment made elsewhere.
Choose a method to collect payments after booking
Depending on your payment processor, you can collect the payment through Acuity or record an external payment:
- Charge a client’s card - Best for manually entering a card or using a card already on file.
- Send an Acuity invoice - Best for giving the client a clear, itemized breakdown of what they owe.
- Send a payment link from the mobile app - Best for using the mobile app or collecting a deposit, instead of the full cost of an appointment.
- Include a payment link in an automated email - Best for automatically reminding clients to pay via email.
- Include a payment link in an automated text message - Best for automatically reminding clients to pay via SMS.
- Send clients to the confirmation page - Best for sending on-demand links if you don’t want to use the mobile app.
- Record a cash payment - Best for recording non-Acuity payments (not just limited to cash) if you track your revenue in Acuity.
- Mark as paid - Best for recording non-Acuity payments if you don’t use Acuity to track your revenue.
Can I collect payment later for packages, gift certificates, and subscriptions?
Packages, gift certificates, and subscriptions must be paid for in full at the time of purchase. Clients can't buy these now and pay later.
To accept payment later, you can create a free code and collect the payment outside Acuity but you can't log or track the payment in Acuity.
