What notifications can I receive?
Set up email and push notifications in the Admin Notification Settings panel. The sections that appear depend on your permission level.
Email notifications
You can get email notifications for:
- New, rescheduled, or canceled appointments
- Copies of your client’s appointment reminders
- Daily or weekly appointment summaries
- Package and subscription orders (account owners only)
- Waitlist requests (account owners only)
Push notifications
You can get push notifications for:
- New, rescheduled, or canceled appointments
- Appointment reminders
Get order and waitlist emails as an account owner
Only account owners can access and change Owner notifications.
Owner notifications go only to the account owner, not to the recipients in the Who gets notified table.
To turn on owner notifications:
- Open the Admin Notification Settings panel.
- Scroll to the Owner notifications section.
- Switch on the notifications you want:
- Package, subscription, or gift certificate updates - A client orders a package, subscription, or gift certificate.
- Waitlist notifications - A client joins the waitlist.
Send daily or weekly appointment summary emails with Summary digests
Summary digests are only sent to account owners and contributors with either admin or view and edit access.
A summary digest is one email covering upcoming bookings across your calendars. It’s useful if per-booking alerts become noisy.
Unlike the other email notification settings, this setting is applied at the contributor level. Each person sets their own schedule and turning it on for you doesn’t turn it on for your staff. Recipients added in the Who gets notified section don’t receive it.
To turn on or off daily and weekly summaries:
- Open the Admin Notification Settings panel.
- Scroll to the Summary notifications digest section.
- Next to Summary Digest, switch the toggle on.
- Select Weekly or Daily.
- If you choose Daily, choose a send time between 4 PM and 11:00 PM.
Note: Weekly emails are sent on Monday morning.
Choose who gets notified
Email and push notifications for each calendar go to the people you add in the Calendar notifications section, so start here before turning any notifications on. You can add account holders or any email address, and each calendar can have its own recipients.
To add or remove notification recipients to your calendars:
- Open the Admin Notification Settings panel.
- Scroll to the Calendar notifications section.
- Under Who gets notified, find the calendar you want. To narrow a long list, enter a name in Search.
- Click Add next to that calendar. To stop someone receiving notifications for a calendar, click ✕ next to their name.
- Select an account holder, or enter an email address.
- Repeat for any other calendars you want notifications about.
Note: A calendar with no recipients sends no notifications, even when the toggles below are switched on.
Choose which emails you receive
These toggles apply to everyone you added in the Who gets notified section.
Only account owners and admins can change these settings. Contributors with view and edit access can view them but can't change them.
To choose which email notifications to send:
- Open the Admin Notification Settings panel.
- Scroll to the Email notifications section.
- Switch on the notifications you want:
- Booking updates - A client books, reschedules, or cancels.
- Appointment reminders - Sends you a copy of the reminder email your client receives.
Note: If you’ve set up more than one client reminder email, toggling on Appointment reminders shows a checkbox for each one. Check only the ones you want copies of.
Turn on push notifications
These settings are specific to the logged in user. Each person sets their own notifications settings and turning them on for you doesn’t turn them on for your staff. Recipients added in the Who gets notified section don’t receive these notifications.
You receive push notifications through the Acuity Scheduling Admin mobile app, so download and sign into the app before switching these on.
To turn on push notifications:
- Open the Admin Notification Settings panel.
- Scroll to the Push notifications section.
- Switch on the notifications you want.
I’m not receiving push notifications
If push notifications are enabled in the app but you're not receiving them, check your device's settings to ensure the Acuity mobile app can send notifications. For help, visit Apple's guide to changing notification settings on iPhone or Google's guide to controlling notifications on Android.
What’s included in internal appointment notifications?
Internal email notifications are copies of the emails sent to your clients, excluding follow-ups. Confirmation emails also include questions and answers from any intake forms the client filled out at booking.
You'll only get an internal notification if the matching client notification goes out. If there's no client email address on the appointment, or you or your staff make a change without sending notifications, no internal copy is sent either.
What email address sends the internal notifications?
Internal notification emails delivered to you and your staff are sent from no-reply@acuityscheduling.com. If you reply to a booking confirmation or reminder email, your reply goes to the client. Replies to other emails will bounce.
