Refreshed payment options and itemized cost breakdowns for improved appointment records.
We’re updating the checkout experience for collecting payments from clients after their appointment is booked and making changes after payments are processed.
What will change for me?
When you collect payments after booking, you can now view separate line items for tips and additional charges. You can also edit prices for individual appointments and add-ons from checkout for more accurate record-keeping.
Take deposits or full payments
If you require deposits at booking, you can choose to charge the deposit amount or the full balance when making the first payment.
Edit the appointment price, add-ons, or codes
We’ve updated how prices are edited after booking. To edit the amount owed, or apply codes for coupons and packages, gift certificates, and subscriptions to the appointment:
- If no payment is made - you can edit the price of the appointment type or add-ons individually, and apply or edit codes that are redeemable for the appointment type booked. You can’t edit the prices when you apply a code that’s redeemable for a total number of minutes or appointments.
- If a deposit was paid - you can edit appointment type or add-on prices, or apply codes if the new amount is higher than the deposit amount paid.
- Paid in full - You can’t edit prices or codes after the appointment is paid in full.
Add tips and additional charges
You can now add a tip as a separate line item when paying the total balance due for an appointment. You can add one tip to each appointment.
You can also add additional charges and include a description for them. You can add as many additional charges to the booking as needed, but they won’t apply towards the balance due on the booking. These charges can be added when making a full payment, or after an appointment has been paid in full.
Where will these updates be available?
You can find these new settings when checking out appointments from a computer or mobile browser.
