Display Booking Assistant on your scheduler to help clients book the right service.
Offer clients a conversational scheduling experience with Acuity’s Booking Assistant. This AI-powered chatbot recommends services and available time slots to clients based on their preferences.
Booking Assistant is only available if you're on the Powerhouse or Premium plan.
Turn the Booking Assistant on or off
To enable or disable the Booking Assistant:
- Open the Booking Assistant panel.
- Switch the Display on scheduling page toggle on or off.
- Click Save.
Add business information to help generate responses
Provide business context to help the Booking Assistant answer your clients’ frequently asked questions, like your address or hours of operation.
To include extra business information in your Booking Assistant responses:
- Open the Booking Assistant panel.
- Enter details about your business in the Business context textbox.
- Click Save.
Preview, edit, and approve responses about your services
Your services need a description for the Booking Assistant to generate responses for your clients. If you don’t have a description set for your appointment type, you can add or generate appointment context in the Booking Assistant panel.
To add appointment context to the Booking Assistant’s responses:
- Open the Booking Assistant panel.
- Under Appointment context, preview generated appointment context for each appointment type.
- Click the pencil icon on your appointment type to add or edit appointment context.
- Click Generate to add an AI-generated description of the service. You can edit the generated context in the text box to update the information.
- Click Approve to save the response.
Schedule appointments with the Booking Assistant
Clients can use the Booking Assistant to help them schedule one or more time slots for a service. The Booking Assistant can’t schedule classes or purchase packages, gift certificates, or subscriptions.
The Booking Assistant prompts clients to:
- Choose a service - Clients can click Book a service or Help me decide, or type a description of their request.
- Choose an add-on - Clients can select any add-ons associated with their chosen appointment type.
- Choose a calendar - If your service is offered on multiple calendars, clients can pick a calendar or click No preference, depending on how you set up pooled availability.
- Choose a time - Clients pick from a list of available dates and times. If you offer recurring appointments, they can click Multiple appointments or Set up recurring to add more times. If you offer a waitlist, the Booking Assistant can prompt clients to join the waitlist if they’re preferred time isn’t available.
- Review their appointment - Clients are provided a summary of the appointment details.
- Schedule the appointment - To schedule, clients click Your information, and the Booking Assistant redirects them to the checkout page to fill out their name, contact information, and any intake forms or payment details you set up.
What languages does the Booking Assistant support?
Clients can send messages to the Booking Assistant in any language, but the Booking Assistant can only respond in English or Spanish.
Conversation data retention
Conversation transcripts are deleted after 21 days. No personal information is requested by the Booking Assistant.
