Find out whether a client has paid, partly paid, or still owes for an appointment.
You can check an appointment’s payment status at a glance, or open the appointment details to review the full amounts. You can also find payment information in your payment processor.
Where payment status appears
Payment status appears in two places:
- In the Calendar panel, each appointment shows its payment status in its top-right corner. This works in a browser and in the Acuity Scheduling Admin mobile app.
- In the client's entry in the Client list panel, each appointment summary includes payment status. This is only available in a browser.
What each payment status means
Each status appears as a symbol in the Calendar panel and as a word in the client list:
| Payment status | Calendar panel symbol | Client list status |
| Fully paid | Black currency symbol |
Paid |
| Deposit paid | Light gray currency symbol |
Deposit |
| Card details saved | Credit card |
Verified |
| Certificate code used for full cost | Black starburst |

| Certificate code used for part of cost | Gray starburst |
Certificate |
| Unpaid or free | Empty | [No status listed] |
Review how much a client has paid
Click an appointment in the Calendar panel or the Client list panel to open the appointment details, which include cost and payment details. These details display slightly differently based on whether you’re using a browser or the mobile app.
Appointment details in a browser
The Payment section shows the total cost, any payments already made, the amount still owed, and the tip amount, if you received one.
Appointment details in the mobile app
The Remaining section shows any amount the client still owes for the appointment.
Tap Checkout or Review payment to display more details, including partial payments the client has already made.
Payments that don't change payment status
Applying a package, gift certificate, or subscription code after an appointment is booked updates the status to the Certificate symbol. These two payment types don't update an appointment's payment status at all:
- Payments made through Acuity invoices.
- Coupon codes applied after an appointment is booked.
